Squirrels

Squirrels can be fun to watch, when they are outdoors. But, inside buildings they can be the source of many problems putting your home or business at risk of damage and potential health concerns.

Trapper Joe’s wildlife technicians are experienced in squirrel removal. Whether the squirrels have invaded your attics, soffit, chimneys, walls, crawlspaces, enclosed decks, etc. in residential and commercial buildings, we guarantee their removal.

All our technicians are trained, insured, and have been licensed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Our company is defined by our customers’ experiences.
Our employees deliver those experiences.

Our wildlife technicians will complete a comprehensive inspection of the building’s exterior and interior to locate all entry/exit openings, and to locate and assess any other damage to the building. The openings will then be sealed with professional grade metal products, which will prevent other wildlife from entering. The squirrels removal will be achieved by either the use of humane live traps, or exclusion traps with doors and tunnels.

Since the squirrel removal and closing of their openings can be only part of the complete solution, Additional Trapper Joe’s services include damage repair, cleaning, decontamination, removal and replacement of soiled insulation, and wildlife exclusion proofing of the building.

Squirrel removal from attics is the most common request that we receive. Since attics are a large space, they can accommodate large populations of squirrels. Thus, the attic is also where we commonly find the most damage from groups of squirrels chewing on cables and electrical wiring (fire risk), PVC water lines (water damage), heating/cooling ductwork, and items stored in the attic.

In our years of providing squirrel removal services we have found and sealed openings in attic turbine fan vents, plain attic vents, gable vents, roof returns (where shingles and soffit meet), inadequate or non-existing chimney caps, gaps between roof decking and fascia, and holes chewed thru solid wood; to name a few of the ways squirrels have utilized to gain entry into buildings.

They can leave large amounts of feces, urine, hair, body oil, food, and nesting material. These remnants can attract insects like cockroaches. You might experience odor problems from the waste. Urine can stain sheetrock and wood. Mold can grow on the feces. Some types of mold can potentially cause health problems. Sometimes the feces and urine themselves can carry diseases.
